The Guandong Alliance

Cao Cao (曹操)

Familiar Name: A-man (阿瞞)

A warlord in the Guandong Alliance.

Current Status: He is currently alive. Due to Xun Yu’s strategy, he recruited the remnants of the Yellow Turban Rebellion into the army without having to provide extra grain.

A warlord in the Guangdong Alliance.

Wen Chou (文醜)

Yuan Shao’s general.

Current Status: He is currently alive. After the failed assassination attempt on Dong Zhuo, he has been leading troops against Yuan Shao’s rival troops.

Zi Wang (紫王)

Yuan Shao’s general.

Current Status: He is deceased, defeated and consequently killed by Liaoyuan Huo (See volume 7, chapter 53).
Note: Zi Wang is a completely fictional character.

Yan Liang (顔良)

Yuan Shao’s general.

Current Status: He is currently alive. After the failed assassination attempt on Dong Zhuo, he has been leading troops against Yuan Shao’s rival troops.

One of Yuan Shao’s ministers.

Current Status: He is currently alive.

Gongsun Zan (公孫瓚)
Zi: Bogui (伯珪)

A warlord in the Guangdong Alliance who finds himself constantly fighting against Yuan Shao, another warlord in the Alliance.

Current Status: He is currently alive, having been saved by Liaoyuan Huo, Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei in his latest battle against Yuan Shao.

A military general of Sun Jian in the Guangdong Alliance.

Current Status: He is alive, having retreated with Yuan Shao after the meeting at the City of Kings.

Sun Shu (孙淑)

Sun Jian’s daughter and Yuan Fang’s fiancée.

Current Status: She is alive, having been saved by Liaoyuan Huo after Yuan Fang sacrificed her to save himself. She retreated with Huang Gai after the meeting at the City of Kings.
Note: She is based off of Sun Jian’s daughter.

Liu Bei (劉備)
Zi: Xuande (玄德)

A cavalry archer who has joined Yuan Shao’s army after the Yellow Turban Rebellion fell apart. Oath-brother to Guan Yu and Zhang Fei.

Current Status: Has recently developed a reputation as someone who has defeated Lü Bu (with the persuasion of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei). After parting ways with Liaoyuan Huo, he is waiting for Huo to return with good news.

Current Status: He is alive and returned from exile to Chang’an after Lü Bu’s supposed defeat.

Wang Fang (王方)

Dong Zhuo’s general, served under Li Jue in leading his forces against Han Sui.

Current Status: He is deceased - killed by Ma Chao when they tried to attack Ma Teng (See Volume 10, chapter 82).

Li Meng (李蒙)

Dong Zhuo’s general, served under Li Jue in leading his forces against Han Sui.

Current Status: He is deceased - killed by Ma Chao when they tried to attack Ma Teng (See Volume 10, chapter 82).

Niu Fu (牛輔)

One of Dong Zhuo’s general and son-in-law.

Current Status: He is deceased, assassinated by Hu Chi-er (See Volume 10, chapter 78). However, that was all part of Jia Xu’s plan (”Jing Ke assassinates Qin, Gong-zi proffers his head”) to rout Lü Bu.

The Sima Family

Sima Yi (司马懿)
Zi: Zhongda (仲达)

The second son of the Sima Family and head “Advisor” of the Family.

Current Status: He is currently alive and traveling away from Chang’an after his confrontation with Lü Bu after Dong Zhuo’s assassination.

The first son of the Sima Family and Imperial Bookkeeper.

Current Status: After being rescued through a plot formed by Sima Yi, he safely escaped Luoyang.

The Third Uncle of Sima Yi.

The fourth Uncle of Sima Yi and the greediest of them all.

The Sima Siblings

The five younger brothers of Sima Yi. They are cared for by Xiao Meng.

The Handicapped Warriors

Liaoyuan Huo (燎原火)
Aliases: Zhao Huo / Zhao Yun (Zilong)

The current leader of the Handicapped Warriors. He lacks the ability to feel pain.

Current Status: Huo is alive, and leaves with Xiao Meng after the successful assassination of Dong Zhuo with Sima Yi. He is currently traveling with an imperial decree that recognizes Liu Bei as an imperial relative.

Guo Ang (郭昂)

A member of the Handicapped Warriors. He has only one arm.

Current Status: He is alive and is currently traveling with Sima Yi after successfully holding off Dong Zhuo’s loyal men while Lü Bu assassinated Dong Zhuo.
Note: Guo Ang is a completely fictional character.

Xiao Meng (小孟)
Aliases: Diao Chan

A member of the Handicapped Warriors and “nanny” to the Sima siblings. He is a eunuch.

Current Status: He is alive and currently traveling with Huo as Diao Chan.

Zhang Lei (张雷)

A member of the Handicapped Warriors. He has only one leg.

Current Status: He is alive and is currently traveling with Sima Yi after successfully holding off Dong Zhuo’s loyal men while Lü Bu assassinated Dong Zhuo.
Note: Zhang Lei is a completely fictional character.

The Triad of the Clear Wind

Chief Ma ()

Presumably the leader of the Triad. He is present during the rescue of Sima Lang in Luoyang.

Current Status: Alive.

Wang Gang (王刚)

A deputy general in the Triad. He accompanies the HW on their mission to Chang’an.

Current Status: Deceased (Volume 7, Chapter 52). Killed by Zi Wang.

Hua Tuo (華佗)
Zi: Yuan Hua (元化)

A renowned physician.

Current Status: He is alive. His latest activities includes treating Watermirror’s 4th genius.

Ma Chao (馬超)
Zi: Mengqi (孟起)

Ma Teng’s eldest son.

Current Status: He is alive. He rescued Lü Bu from Jia Xu’s planned ambush. He momentarily allied with Lü Bu. After the meeting with Jia Xu, he leaves with his father and his troops for Liangzhou.

Ma Chao’s father. Meixian Grand Administrator and warlord.

Current Status: He is alive. After meeting with Jia Xu, he decides to withdraw from Chang’an and go back to Liangzhou.

Jin Cheng Jun Grand Administrator and warlord.

Current Status: He is alive, pulled back his troops from Chang’an with Ma Teng after receiving a message about the Liangzhou scheme.

A famous teacher of advisors.

Current Status: Alive.

Yuan Fang (袁方)

The First Genius under Watermirror. Illegitimate son of Yuan Shao.

Current Status: Alive. Serving as advisor to Yuan Shao.
Note: Yuan Fang is a completely fictional character.

Xun Yu (荀彧)
Zi: Wenruo (文若)

The Second Genius under Watermirror.

Current Status: He is alive and currently serving as Cao Cao’s advisor. His most recent strategy allowed Cao Cao to attract members of the Yellow Scarves to his army.

Zi: Wenhe (文和)

The Third Genius under Watermirror. Oath-brother to Li Ru.

Current Status: He is alive. After Dong Zhuo’s death, he served his son-in-law, Nia Fu. His use of the “Dark Art of War” routed Lü Bu back to into Chang’an, however, after being rejected by the four generals, he left with Watermirror’s fourth genius.

The Imperial Court

Liu Bian (劉辯)
Title: Young Emperor

The young Emperor disposed by Dong Zhuo and replaced by his younger brother, Liu Xie.

Current Status: He is currently deceased (See volume 8 chapter 64). Dong Zhuo used Liu Bian as bait to lure Yuan Shao and his men to Luoyang. He was rescued by Yuan Shao during that time. In the end, Lü Bu poisoned him in order to frame Li Ru.

Liu Xie (劉協)
Title: Emperor Xian of Han

Replaced his brother, Liu Bian, as Emperor to be a puppet of Dong Zhuo.

Current Status: He is alive and currently acting as Lü Bu’s puppet. He issued a decree recognizing Liu Bei his relative.

Wang Yun (王允)
Zi: Zishi (子师)

A highly influential court minister. Friend of the Sima Family.

Current Status: He is deceased (See volume 10, chapter 81). He ruled Chang’an jointly with Lü Bu after Dong Zhuo’s assassination. He held the royal edict that declares Lü Bu is a traitor and was hung when Dong Zhuo’s sympathizers revolted.
