Hearing reports that Lu Bu has killed twenty-eight one-eyed men in the search for Xu Lin’s killer, Liu Zhang, a one-eyed general under Yuan Shao, concludes that this must be a rumor created by Dong Zhuo’s side. He claims that he invented the story of the one-eyed killer to bolster Guandong Coalition morale. However, his bluff is called when Lu Bu cuts through the enemy camp to take Liu Zhang’s head. Lu Bu heads back to Xu Lin’s tomb, where he has placed the one-eyed heads around Xu Lin’s grave. Liaoyuan Huo is sitting in front of the tomb.

Dong Zhuo denounces the corruption of the court to Liu Xie. He demands that the emperor open his eyes to the way the country has been misruled. The emperor, suddenly converted, declares he hates Dong Zhuo…. for being late. Liu Xie now agrees with Dong Zhuo’s bloody tactics. Meanwhile, the Guandong Army is unable to advance into the capital because Dong Zhuo is holding hostage the family members of their officers. To resolve this problem, the Guandong Coalition has secretly sent warriors into the city. Liaoyuan Huo notices a few of these spies.

Liaoyuan Huo, in the guise of Zhao Huo, has been given a post in the Xiliang army guarding the gate. The spies from Guandong, however, overpower the gate guards and force them to take them into the city. One of the spies, a young woman named Sun Shu, forces Huo to accompany her. On the way, however, Hua Xiong, one of Dong Zhuo’s officers, catches on to their plan. The leader of the squad, Huang Gai, challenges him. In the chaos, Sun Shu manages to escape, dragging Huo along, but accidentally runs into a dead end.

Sun Shu attempts to fight off the Xiliang soldiers, but she is outmatched. In a split second, Huo manages to save her using his assassin skills. She is unable to see that he saved her, however, because of a falling sign. Meanwhile, Huang Gai has managed to escape, but the rest of the squad was not so lucky.

Liaoyuan Huo is now imprisoned in the Guandong Army’s secret headquarters. They are planning to break out the hostages from jail. The person in charge of the raid is Yuan Fang, a relative of Guandong Army head Yuan Shao. He is engaged to Sun Shu, who insisted on accompanying Huang Gai to Luoyang so that she could see him. Yuan Fang allows Huo to overhear when they plan to attack the jail, then lets him escape. He plans to use Huo to feed Dong Zhuo false information, so that the Xiliang army will be led down a false trail. Meanwhile, Lu Bu is interrogating Sima Lang, Sima Yi’s elder brother, about Xu Lin’s death. Lu Bu claims he feels the killer of Xu Lin has come; suddenly, Huo appears!

| Chapter 12

“Zhao Huo” attacks Sima Lang, blaming him for the death of his father, who died along with Xu Lin in the attack by the HW. Sima Lang hears that Zhao Huo met Lu Bu outside of Xu Lin’s grave, and joined the Xiliang Army to find his father’s killers. Lu Bu claims that he will use Sima Lang to find the one-eyed killer, and after that, attack the Sima house. Then, Hua Xiong appears, declaring that there is a traitor within their ranks. Meanwhile, at a party at Dong Zhuo’s mansion, one of his followers protests his secret plan to relocate the capital, because they do not wish to lose the prize they have fought for. To preserve secrecy, the other guests are killed. A strange musician, however, does not attempt to flee, and claims to be able to convince the Xiliang Army to follow Dong Zhuo’s plan. Dong Zhuo, intrigued, commands Diaochan to perform.

Diaochan performs a song written by Xu Lin, “Pondering Homeland,” about the sadness of soldiers separated from their families. The soldiers are deeply moved, and Dong Zhuo is impressed with Diaochan’s power. Dong Zhuo addresses the soldiers, telling them that they have forgotten about their homeland, Xiliang, and that since they have the emperor, it does not matter where they are. Now Diaochan (Xiao Meng) is impressed with Dong zhuo’s charisma. He declares that they will move to Changan and build an even greater capital. Suddenly, Dong Zhuo embraces Diaochan and kisses her.

| Chapter 14

Actually, the traitor Hua Xiong was talking about is not Huo, but a general named Yuan Tai. Hua Xiong claims he will kill the traitor in five moves. After three techniques, he appears to be on the verge of winning, but Yuan Tai defeats him using a nearby fire. Lu Bu then steps in…and kills Yuan Tai by setting him on fire as well. Everyone watches Lu Bu hold Yuan Tai down as he burns to death. Yuan Tai’s troops lose their nerve and surrender.
