According to the "Marca" report, if Barcelona give players a pay cut again, then players can choose to freely terminate the contract.
Barcelona is urging its club staff and players to cut salaries again, and now each club department has 15 days to assign representatives to negotiate with the club. Therefore, it is expected that the negotiations between Barcelona and these representatives will last about a month, so it is estimated that Barcelona will implement salary reduction measures in some form at the end of November.
However, according to Article 41 of the Spanish "Workers Law", Barcelona can do so to allow their employees to freely terminate the contract without any financial penalties. At the same time, the Marca newspaper emphasized that there is a precedent for football players to use the law to terminate contracts.
Therefore, in theory, if Barcelona give players another pay cut, then players can choose to leave the team freely in January next year, or they can wait until June next year.
The club is now evaluating their options to avoid this worst-case scenario.
